Four tiers, four products, one wildcard — the weather. Tiers work the same across all cruises; inside-48-hour reschedules are handled case-by-case via support and based on the boat type. Weather cancellations are always 100% refund, regardless of window.
Hours before departure pick the tier.
Measured in Istanbul local time. Weather cancellations override all tiers with a 100% refund.
Half back. Alternatively, full-amount reschedule handled case-by-case via support.
No cash refund. 100% credit across any Istanbul Tourist Information booking.
Boat sailed, host paid, meal prepped. An unused seat cannot be reversed.
What this policy covers.
Every cruise ticket and add-on sold on bosphorus-tour.com — Regular, Sunset, Dinner, Private Yacht, and any add-on.
Not covered: tickets sold at the pier, by third-party resellers, or directly by boat operators. Those are governed by their own terms.
EU 14-day cooling-off does not apply to timed leisure services (legal carve-out, not our choice). Our tiers are more generous than the directive requires.
How to request.
Four steps.
Reference: BO- + six characters, in the confirmation email.
Hours between now and departure = tier.
Reply to confirmation with "refund request" in the subject.
Human review within 8 business hours.
What is and what isn't refundable.
- Ticket + add-ons within window tiers.
- Full amount on weather cancellation, any time.
- Full amount if the captain cuts a cruise short (proportional, based on minutes sailed).
- Full amount if no confirmation email within 60 minutes.
- Duplicate charges — same-day processing.
- Dinner meal component if dietary request cannot be accommodated (we notify 48 hours before).
- No-shows (boat leaves on time).
- Transport, hotel, onward travel.
- Foreign-exchange margin.
- Third-party tickets from resellers.
- Admin fees (reschedule inside 48 hours).
- Items lost or damaged onboard (boat operator's liability).
Reschedule fees.
Fees scale with the coordination cost of the cruise:
Regular / Sunset — free over 48 hours; inside 48 hours handled case-by-case via support.
Dinner — free over 48 hours; inside 48 hours handled case-by-case via support (meal prep committed per guest).
Private Yacht — free over 72 hours; inside 72 hours handled case-by-case via support (crew booked exclusively).
New date within six months of original. No cap on the number of reschedules provided each respects the window.
Weather cancellations.
The captain makes the call, always. Beaufort 7+ wind, visibility under 500m, storm warning from Meteoroloji — these are the thresholds.
Notification by SMS and email no later than 4 hours before departure. You choose: 100% refund or free reschedule to any date in the next six months. The tiered rules don't apply to weather cancellations.
Partial cruises (we sail, conditions force early return): proportional refund based on the ratio of minutes sailed to the planned duration. E.g. a 90-minute cruise cut at minute 30 = 66% refund.
Note on chargebacks.
Chargebacks work but take 30-90 days. Our direct refund is 5 business days. Unjustified chargebacks (completed cruise then disputed) result in evidence submission and potential reinstatement plus a dispute fee. Talk to us first.
Processing timeline.
Human review. Support reads the request, confirms window, amount, approves.
Stripe submission. Refund to Stripe's API; status moves to processing.
Stripe settles. Amount deducted, forwarded to card network.
Your bank posts. Variable. EU banks fast, US slower, prepaid slowest.
