03 · Know before you choose

Six things to decide first.

Quick-reference essentials before you compare tour types — saves time at booking and at the pier.

Tour Types

Four genuine variations

Choose between a classic Bosphorus Cruise, a romantic Sunset Cruise, a lively Dinner Cruise, or a full-day Prince Islands Tour.

Starting Points

Eminönü or Kabataş

Most boats depart from Eminonu or Kabatas piers. Check your ticket for the exact location.

Seasonal Differences

Year-round operation

Spring and summer are the most popular seasons for cruising, but winter tours can also be beautiful with quieter boats and clear views.

What to Wear

A light layer always

Even in summer, it can be windy on the water. Bring a light jacket or scarf.

Best Seat

Upper deck preferred

For the best views, try to sit on the upper deck. If it is cold, all boats have comfortable indoor areas with large windows.

Seasickness

Calm waters, large boats

The Bosphorus is usually very calm. Most people do not feel seasick, but if you are sensitive, choose a larger boat.

Historic Fortresses & Palaces

You will pass the massive Rumeli Fortress and the elegant Dolmabahce Palace. These are the most impressive buildings on the European side.

02

The Bosphorus Bridges

Sail directly under the giant bridges that connect two continents. It is an amazing feeling to see the scale of these structures from below. You may also see the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, one of the most famous crossings on the Bosphorus.

03

Waterfront Mansions (Yalis)

Look at the beautiful wooden houses. Some of these are hundreds of years old and are the most expensive homes in Turkey.

04

Bebek Bay

One of the prettiest parts of the Bosphorus, Bebek is known for its elegant waterfront, luxury homes, and relaxing atmosphere.

06 · Plan your cruise

Plan Your Cruise.

Five practical things to know before you book — toggle between tabs to see what applies to your day.

Departure Points

Most tours start near the Galata Bridge (Eminonu) or Kabataş Tram Station. Kabataş and Eminönü are both easy to reach by tram, taxi, or on foot from central areas.

Best Time

Morning (11:00 AM) is great for clear photos. Sunset is the most romantic time. Evening is best for food and shows. The best season for most travelers is April to October, but winter cruises can also offer beautiful views with fewer crowds.

Weather

Tours operate all year. In rain or snow, you can stay in the heated indoor cabin and still enjoy the view.

Tips

Arrive at the pier at least 15–20 minutes early. Bring sunscreen, a light jacket, and your camera or phone for photos.

Evening Dress

For Dinner Cruises, "Smart Casual" is recommended. For Day Cruises, casual clothes are perfect.

08 · FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Six most-asked questions before booking. See all 36 questions in the full FAQ →

Which tour should I choose?

If you have little time, choose the 90-minute Standard Cruise. For a special night, choose the Dinner Cruise.

How long is the tour?

Sightseeing tours are usually 1.5 to 2 hours. Dinner cruises are about 3 hours.

Is food included?

Only on the Dinner Cruise. The Sunset Cruise is a lighter evening experience, and it is best to check your booking details for the latest onboard inclusions.

Is it good for kids?

Yes. Children usually enjoy being on a boat and seeing the city from the water.

Will I get seasick?

Very unlikely. The Bosphorus is a narrow strait, not the open ocean, so the water is usually calm.

Can I cancel my ticket?

Most tickets offer a 24-hour cancellation policy for a full refund.
